This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.
Who is responsible
The Fifth Kingdom is a division of Autonomic Engineering, operated by Liam Blackburn as a sole trader in the United Kingdom, and the data controller for the purposes of UK data-protection law. You can reach us about privacy at support@t5k.fm.
What we collect
- Your email address, which you provide at purchase and sign-in. We use it to deliver your licence, run your passwordless account, and provide support.
- Purchase and licence records — which product you bought, when, and the licence we issued — so we can fulfil and support your purchase.
- Payment information is collected and processed by Stripe, our payment provider and merchant of record. We do not receive or store your card details; we receive confirmation of the transaction and the email associated with it.
- Limited technical data. Our site is served through Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (such as IP address and approximate country) to deliver and secure the service and to determine availability in your region. The application may collect limited technical data (such as your macOS version or crash diagnostics) to help us fix problems; this is used only for support and stability.
How we use it
- to process your order and deliver the software and your licence;
- to operate your account and authenticate sign-in;
- to provide support and respond to your enquiries;
- to diagnose faults and improve the stability of the software;
- to comply with our legal obligations, such as tax and accounting.
We rely on the performance of our contract with you to deliver the product and account, on our legitimate interests to keep the service secure and working, and on legal obligation for our tax and accounting records.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Stripe — to process payments and act as merchant of record. See Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
- Cloudflare — which provides our hosting, content delivery, and the routing and sending of our transactional email. See cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
- authorities or advisers where we are required to by law.
These providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) apply.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and licence records for as long as your licence is active and your account exists, and we retain transaction records for as long as tax and accounting law requires. We delete or anonymise data we no longer need.
How we protect it
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS). We use passwordless, one-time sign-in links rather than stored passwords, payment is handled by PCI-compliant Stripe, and we keep the personal data we hold to the minimum needed to run the service.
Your rights
Under UK data-protection law you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it erased in certain circumstances, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email support@t5k.fm. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; the "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
